How I Became a Judge.
Having been awarded three consecutive title wins as Best Bridal Retailer in Scotland, the VOWS Awards invited me, as owner of Rachel Scott Couture, to represent our industry as a judge and Brand Ambassador. It’s a position and title we are honoured to have retained since 2016.
Why I Judge.
Throughout my sixteen years building Rachel Scott Couture, I continue to put my heart and soul into making special memories for every client – my goal is always to make sure the wedding dress process is worry free and fun filled.
My years of developing such a truly personal and bespoke service for my clients means I have a true understanding of what that takes.
The Scottish wedding industry is definitely one to be proud of, I see just how much personal time, effort and enthusiasm so many of us put into delivering wedding day perfection for our couples. I choose to continue to be part of the VOWS judging team to ensure I play my part in helping celebrate those achievements and rewarding those who truly put their customers wedding planning memories first.
The dedication of so many of my fellow independent business owners is awe inspiring and I’m incredibly proud to be part of such a supportive, innovative and hard working group of independent businesses.
The Scottish VOWS Awards have always shown true integrity and transparency when it comes to the nominating and judging process and, having had the honour of experiencing the system from both sides, it’s confirmed that integrity to me even more.
So for 2019, we will be wholeheartedly continuing our role as part of the judging panel and promoting customer service excellence within the Scottish Wedding Industry.
What Are The VOWS Awards.
Rewarding and promoting customer service excellence within the Scottish wedding industry, the VOWS Awards celebrates those who consistently deliver an outstanding customer experience.
Clients can nominate the service providers who they feel went above and beyond for them and from those nominations the best quality of suppliers are selected as finalists.
Within the nomination and judging process, everything is geared towards making sure that each and every business has an equal opportunity to showcase who they are and what they do to make their customer experience exceptional. It’s about quality of experience and dedication to clients, rather than quantity of votes.
That’s what makes the VOWS so special. No matter the size of a business or the number of people the business owner knows, or indeed who they know, the VOWS awards system and its judging process is entirely based on how highly customers rates a business’s service and how that business demonstrates that they put their wedding couples at the centre of everything.
How We Choose The Winners.
As a previously winner and judge, I know how much effort the finalists put into providing the best for their clients. I know how much time they spend on their award entries and I also know how devoted their clients are for taking the time to write such heartfelt testimonials! So I feel it’s only right that I take as much time ensuring my decisions are the right ones and are completely justified.
The entire judging panel spend a considerable amount of time reading testimonials and business review forms (over a weeks’ worth in my case…). We research and cross-check facts and any claims made. Then we meet for our final official judging day where there’s always more checking, verifying, assessing and definitely a good bit of intense debate! NO decision is taken lightly and nothing is finalised until we were all absolutely content with our chosen winners.
With such rigorous systems checks and dedication from the judges and the VOWS admin team, we can all be very sure that any business you see listed as a VOWS finalist or who are awarded the winning title, are definitely providing exceptional quality of service to clients!
I’ve always been proud to be part of the VOWS Awards as a nominee, as a winner and now am equally proud as a judge and Brand Ambassador.
